We all have our own insecurities. Those who are very insecure with themselves may not feel they are good enough for their partner, or that their partner could find someone better.

Trust is important in all relationships, but especially in an LDR. Your partner is in a different state/country, you are a fair distance apart, so you can’t monitor them at all times. You have to have complete faith that they are loyal to you. Sometimes, if you’ve been hurt in the past, it can be hard to push that aside and believe that someone loves you for who you are, and wants to be with only you.

It’s also difficult when you see your partner going out and doing activities with their friends. There is that kind of jealousy, when you are jealous of the people who get to see them everyday, or the people who get to be with them when they go out, since you can’t always be there. And, when you know you’ll have to wait a long time to see your partner again, it is hard to watch other people get to spend time with your partner. That can also lead to worry if they hang out with members of the opposite sex.

If your partner loves you, wants this relationship to work out as much as you do, they will not let anything mess it up. You have to trust in them to be able to handle a bad situation, should temptation come their way. And, in return, it’s the same for you. You should respect your partner enough not to get into a bad situation that could ruin all you’ve worked for in this relationship.

Try not to let worry about what your partner is doing while they are not talking to you take over your life. It will only lead to stress for the both of you that doesn’t need to be there. Especially if your partner really is not doing anything wrong. Respect and trust are very important in a long distance relationship, and if you truly love each other, that is easy to achieve.
